Our History
Since 2001, at the initiative of Dr. Jean-Pierre Tchang, Optometrist, several IRIS Mundial volunteers participated in more than 20 humanitarian missions mainly in Haiti and Peru, but also in Mexico, Benin, Mozambique and India. IRIS Mundial projects contributed directly to assist over 45,000 people and over 600 people have undergone surgery.
The current strategy developed by IRIS Mundial is based on the experience gained from these projects, thus promoting the visual health autonomy of the most disadvantaged populations.
